About WattPrice
WattPrice answers one question for U.S. households: how much does it actually cost to run that?
Every calculator on this site is computed from authoritative public data:
- Residential electricity rates come from the U.S. Energy Information Administration's Electric Power Monthly, Table 5.6.A, refreshed monthly.
- Appliance assumptions (wattage, typical hours of use, duty cycle) draw on guidance from the U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Saver publications.
- Solar production estimates use peak-sun-hours by location, derived from public irradiance data (NREL/Open-Meteo).
Every page exposes its inputs and lets you override them with your own numbers. The math is shown explicitly. We do not collect personal data to compute results — everything runs in your browser.
